Cassava unit donates new rakes to FMS
On 15 December, the Cassava Breeding unit presented 25 new rakes to members of the Facility Management Services (FMS) of IITA to enhance their work.
Peter Kulakow, Cassava Breeder/ Geneticist, led the presentation of the Troy Bilt rakes to FMS. While addressing staff, he said: “One of the things we do here in IITA is help to improve our work especially through the better use of tools, so we thought we could help those who make the campus environment beautiful and pleasing for staff, donors, and visitors by providing these rakes.”
The Deputy Director General, Corporate Services, Hilde Koper-Limbourg, appreciated the cassava breeding team for their gift and assured them, saying: “I am certain that we will make good use of them.”
In an interview with Waheed Quader, FMS Head, expressed appreciation to the Cassava Breeding unit for presenting them with the work tools: “It is a very nice gesture on the part of the cassava breeders to have given us these new rakes. This gift would enhance our work more and encourage those who use them for work. We thank the Cassava Breeding team very much.”
