Meet Julie Bwire: The inspiring ambassador of soybean in Tanzania

Julie Bwire is a mother of three and a farmer at Msufini village in Mvomero District, Morogoro Region, eastern Tanzania. She dropped out of school in the late 1980s and until 2015 was engaged in petty trading as well as farming; mostly maize and vegetables.

IITA-Malawi hosts USDA-FAS, US Embassy delegation

On 3 November, IITA-Malawi hosted a delegation from the Department of Agriculture–Foreign Agriculture Service (USDA-FAS) and the US Embassy in Malawi who came to find out about IITA’s work in the country, particularly on aflatoxin research and Aflasafe development.

Inspector General of Police visits IITA

The African Development Bank was in IITA, Ibadan, Nigeria, on 2–3 November for a 2-day end-of-project Supervision Mission on the Support to Agricultural Research for Development of Strategic crops (SARD-SC) project.
